PLAY
PLAY was Proper’s Wednesday night on Twitch. Thirty-five broadcasts between November 2020 and July 2021, all but one on a Wednesday, streamed while the rooms were closed.
Intel played it more than anyone, eleven times. Zebo, LO!, Konztant, Jen Symmetry, Mona Lisa and MegaMike each came back four or five times. Sixty-eight artists with pages here are on its bills, plus more credited by name.
The bill ran on drum & bass, with jungle the clearest thread through it: Intel, Jen Symmetry, Diskokitty, DJ L and Catch22 all carry jungle in their own catalogs. Liquid and breaks turn up too, and a few regulars, Mona Lisa and Queen of Chaos among them, bring techno into their own uploads.
